Church Weekender

Graceville Presbyterian Church is heading away to MTCC Tamborine Mountain for a “Church Weekender” just before Easter. Join us at Panorama Homestead as we spend time together as a church family, learning from God’s word, sharing meals and enjoying fun activities. 

We look forward to Bible talks from Scott Warner, who’s currently serving Jesus as a pastor in Sydney, after 20+ years in student ministry at Macquarie University.

What to bring?

Bible, notebook, pillow, single bed linen or sleeping bags, towel, toiletries, hat, clothes
including swimmer if we get out a water slide.

What does the cost include?

Accommodation, use of grounds and facilities, meals and snacks, speaker and kids programs.

Where is the Church Weekender?

Church Weekender will be held at the Panorama Homestead,Mount Tamborine Conference Centre. It’s about 90 minutes drive from church.

When is the booking deadline?

Early Bird rates finish on Sunday 26th February. The final cut-off for booking in is Sunday 26th March.

What if I can’t afford to come?

We don’t want cost to be a barrier for anyone to come to the Church Weekender. So please chat to Rohan Pieris (rohanpieris85@gmail.com, 0422 033 405) if you need some financial assistance and we’ll be able to work something out. Church members have already donated generously to help sponsor others to come (you can do this as part of the online rego process).

What meals do the Saturday day rates include?

The day rates include breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday.

What about dietary requirements?

From fussy eaters to specific allergies we’d love to cater for you so please get in touch as soon as you can to help plan the menu. Our friendly chefs (Elizabeth Nixon-White & Tracy Tan) are planning some great meals for kids and adults. Please chat to them if you have any other food-related queries.

Is carpooling available?

Yes. Please indicate this when you book and we can help you find a lift.

Will there be a kids program?

We are excited to say Al and Elise Harden will be running a kids program for kids 3 years old to Year 6. For infants, we’ll chat amongst the parents who book in to arrange an informal creche program during the sessions.

What time do we need to arrive?

Dinner will be ready at 6pm on Friday night but you can arrive anytime from 5pm.

Who will be in my dorm room?

Families will be allocated a room with bunk beds.There are also some queen rooms available and also many combinations of smaller rooms. If you have any particular preferences please speak to Josh den Dulk (joshuascottdendulk@gmail.com)

Can under 18s come without a parent/guardian?

Youth and kids under 18 can attend without their parents, provided they have another family they can stay with, and who will take responsibility for them. Written permission from parents/guardians will be required. If you’re bringing someone under 18 who’s
not from your family, please contact Rohan Pieris.

Can meals be available any earlier for young kids?

We are planning from starting breakfast at 7am and dinner at 5pm but if your kids will be hungry before the set meal times, we suggest bringing snacks or your own meals for them. Flexibility is limited when catering for such a large group.

What are the Bible talks on?

Our Bible talks will be given by Scott Warner, a pastor from Sydney who’s been involved in AFES university ministry for many years. He’ll be teaching us about Growing Together,
reflecting on the Bible’s teaching about the Church.
